From the president

In Bana, the party chose a president. That choice commits a way of building, and a country.

The daythe party chooses itself

From 12 to 14 December 2025, Bana is not hosting one more rally. The town in the West receives the first national congress of MP3. For three days, members do not come to applaud a poster. They come to give themselves a direction. It is the act of a party deciding to stand on its own, with a head, a mandate, and a date by which to answer for it.

An election,a mandate

At the close of the proceedings, members elect their governing bodies and choose Hiram Samuel Iyodi as national president for the 2026–2030 term. The election carries a simple weight, and a great one. It says that one generation accepts to answer for the next. It also says that MP3 will be neither a name without a head, nor a head without a party. The congress entrusts a task, with a beginning and an end: to build, to deploy, to account for it, through to 2030. The text he brings into this term is the memorandum of 9 June 2024, of which he is the author: nine principles, seven fields for 2025–2050, five urgent reforms.

Whathis first sentence says

The sentence he speaks at the close is worth pausing on. He does not promise a blaze. He measures the responsibility, then he names the work: to structure, to lead, to deploy. Rigour, here, is not coldness. It is the respect owed to those who will give their name, their time and their hope to an organisation still young. A party that means to last begins by giving itself a frame. That is exactly the mission the congress has just entrusted to him, across the whole territory, for the whole term.

The countryhe names

The course he restates is not a catalogue. Solid democratic institutions, prosperity, sovereignty, social justice: four words for a single country. A country where the law protects before it bears down, where work makes it possible to live, where public decisions are not dictated from elsewhere, where wealth does not stop at the door of a few. When he speaks of a systemic and cross-generational break, the meaning is plain. This is not about changing faces in order to keep the same order. It is about changing the way Cameroon is governed, with those who will still have long years to live inside the result.

The text he carriesinto the term

The congress entrusts him with a term, not a blank page. The text he signed on 9 June 2024 holds in four parts, and each becomes work for the presidency. The doctrine: make afro-socio-liberalism understood, the contract that holds social justice and shared prosperity together. The programme: open the “25 questions to build the Cameroon of 2025–2050”, so the detail comes from members and from civil society, across seven fields, from school to currency. The organisation: install the pyramid, from the municipal cell up to the congress, with no one holding two offices, and with officials chosen by vote. The reforms: carry the five urgencies, from the form of the state through to the nationality code of 1968.

What “to structure” means, year by year

His closing sentence names three verbs: to structure, to lead, to deploy. The memorandum had already written the calendar. 2024: make the doctrine known and create the regional structures. 2025: write the programme and reach the departments. 2026: promote that programme and install all the bodies of the statutes. Through to 2030, the aim he takes up is to gather energies for a lasting dynamic, in the service of social justice and shared prosperity. A presidency is judged on this: is the party present where people live, and does the word given in Bana hold.

A place for thosewho want to walk

This term is an invitation. Of members, he asks unity and commitment, not a walk-on part. To supporters, he opens a place: one can walk with MP3 before taking a card, provided one takes the country seriously. Bana did not close the story. Bana made it possible. The 2026–2030 term will be judged on this: a party present where people live, and a presidency that keeps the word given at the congress.
